What a weekend. The FIA World Endurance Championship was back, and we were looking to keep that momentum rolling from the highs of Le Mans last month. Racing at Interlagos for the first time was always going to be special, and it lived up to every bit of that billing. There’s a weight to the place which can’t be ignored – the history, the legends, the sheer scale of what it means in motorsport. To take that on for the first time with the Heart of Racing crew, Gray and Kobe alongside me is something I’ll remember for a long time.

It was a bittersweet weekend, and summed up motorsport – extreme highs and then things not going our way. Saturday gave us a high we weren’t expecting quite so soon. Pole position, on debut at a track like this, is no small thing, and it was a genuine team effort to get there. Gray delivered his best drive of the season so far during qualifying to get us into the Hyperpole shootout, and Kobe did an incredible job. Against a truly world-class grid, this really shows just what this group is capable of, and the level that they are at. It was brilliant to see everyone buzzing afterwards – nothing that followed could take that moment away.

Sunday was a different story, and it was a tough race. Tyre degradation caught us out more than we’d hoped, and we just didn’t have the pace to match Saturday. Frustrating, but that’s racing – you take the rough with the smooth.

What stays with me isn’t Sunday’s result, it’s how the team responded – level-headed, no dropped heads, getting the car home to fight another day. That’s the real marker of a strong group. Pole position at a circuit as storied as Interlagos means a lot regardless of how the race went. The fact it was our first as a crew together, just elevates things further.

A mixed weekend in the truest sense – a huge high, a tough low, and plenty to be proud of in between. On to the next one as we head to the US for Lone Star Le Mans.
